Today, December 14, 2017, I start my Journey of Building out my Ford E-350 Econoline Club Wagon into an Adventure Mobile. A vehicle that I will use to get away from it all.
About the Van: The Van is 1995 Ford E-350 Econoline Club Wagon Passenger van with 130k miles. The van was purchased from The County Police auction for a whopping $647. It was formerly a Prisoner transport Van. When purchased the only thing the van needed to run was a starter solenoid which I purchased online for $31.00.
The first task at hand was to make sure the vehicle was mechanically sound. I began the task of going through the vehicle from top to bottom. In the end, I replaced the battery, changed the spark plugs and wires, changed all the fluids, (oil, transmission, flushed radiator,) and replaced the front brakes pads. She was now ready for the road. (New Tires to come Later.)
The second step was to completely strip the van, and a thorough cleaning. (all interior panels, trim, passenger seat belts, headliner, and rubber flooring had to go.) After getting the interior stripped clean, I can now take measurements and start planning my interior build.
Stay tuned for more updates on my adventure mobile!
